Rewarding Moments: Seth

When I did become active on the site, I found myself redeeming regularly for Amazon gift cards at first. Then I shifted to eBay gift cards and PayPal cash. I used the gift cards to expand my collections, whether it was Magic! The Gathering cards or NASCAR diecast. I did that regularly until 2018 when Mom’s health started deteriorating. In November 2018, she had to have all of her teeth pulled due to an infection. I shifted from redeeming eBay gift cards to solely redeeming for PayPal cash. I did that because we could not afford the surgery for dental implants at the time. The PayPal cash I was redeeming for was not much, but every little bit helped. My favorite ways to earn SB are answering surveys and watching videos.

Since November 2018, the PayPal cash that I redeemed was typically used to pay for appointments at various dental practices for Mom. We often traveled from Mooresville, N.C. to Concord, N.C., Huntersville, N.C., Kannapolis, N.C., and even Fort Mill, S.C. for appointments. I even helped Mom get her own Swagbucks account set up to give her something to distract herself. 

My Uncle was finally able to help us in October 2020. Unfortunately, Mom’s dental surgery at ClearChoice had to be delayed due to an emergency open-heart surgery, her eighth in 17 years, on February 23, 2021. Mom initially recovered for the first two weeks after surgery. However, she slowly faded. Mom passed away on March 12, 2021.

hile what I earned through Swagbucks was never enough to outright pay for Mom’s dental surgery, it was enough to give her hope. It was enough to give us optimism that there could be a chance that things could work out. I can’t express how much I appreciate the hope that Swagbucks provided us over the past two years.
